  By now just about everyone has probably heard the tragic story of a little 4 year old boy climbing/falling into a gorilla exhibit in the Cincinnati Zoo, the zoo choosing to kill Harambe ( a 17 year old gorilla), and the outcry that has ensued.   I wanted to take a few moments to share my thoughts. I realize to some the video incident looks like Harambe was trying to protect the child, however I’ve also heard reports that this gorilla was banging the child’s head against the concrete and throwing the toddler around.   It was clear according to those who study animal behavior that the choice was either to kill the gorilla or to let the gorilla kill the child.   Jack Hanna who is a celebrity for his years with gorillas even said on the Today Show, “ I can tell you now, that there's no doubt in my mind the child would not be here today if they hadn't made the decision," Hanna said.             As I was in prayer earlier I suddenly felt as if I was on a roller coaster.  It reminded me a lot of the Hulk Ride at Universal Studios in Florida.  The ride begins in a surprise.   Like most rides with a hill you may expect it to slowly begin its accent but with this particular ride it bolts you forward.  What I felt was a sudden bursting forth.  It was if for a moment I could feel the surprise of the wind on my face.  It was a quick speeding forward and upward.              “But God, I said, I don’t see any signs in the physical of this.”  I started to ask God.             “I know, but get ready.  Expect!”  I felt Him impress upon me.                    ...

I have spoken about God Day on these blogs before now. But as I am sitting here typing this only two days away from the biggest most beautiful display of Church Unity and Compassion that I have ever seen. I am so excited to be a part of this movement. Over 100 churches have joined the movement to see 12,000 pairs of shoes put on fatherless children’s feet in downtown Orlando. In those 100 churches from all over the US, there are non-denominational churches, Spanish churches, Russian churches, Korean churches, Baptist churches, etc. On Wednesday not only will the shoes be given but there will be 12 hours of praise and prayer coming from the large arena at Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando. The current best guesstimate of people will be at least 52,000 people there. At the end of the day shofars will blast and a corporate worship service that will be held in several languages will echo through the streets of Orlando.
