Respecting what God is Saying

As a little girl growing up in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waldo, OH, I remember how my mother would not let us leave the service once it started.   We would especially get in trouble if we had to go to the bathroom while the minister was speaking.   I remember ...

Shower Gymnastics

My family knows that I always joke that “This momma is not doing emergency room visits especially when we are out of the country!” We travel to Canada a few times a year to see my in-laws and kids are kids and have their share of accidents. We’ve had a couple times where I thought we’d end up in a Canadian ER but haven’t yet. Not that I wouldn’t go if we really needed it but going would create piles of paperwork that I would rather avoid if possible. This year however I was the one that I thought may end up in the Canadian ER. All women who read this will laugh in understanding of my clumsiness. I needed to shave my legs in the shower. It gets slippery in there. Put someone… anyone in a small space with slick surfaces that are being covered in water and give them a razor, there is bound to be accidents. I stood in the shower that morning with one leg resting on the wall at about chest level, and using the other one to support my weight. Water poured down all over me, and just for...

My Pity Party Moment

I had a moment yesterday. Call it what you want…a moment, a pity party, a funk, a crying and letting irrational thoughts run wild, or just a need to renew my mind moment. I’m not perfect. Sometimes I have them. I’m a creative dramatic female so sometimes I need to guard my emotions probably more than most. I’m doing better not to have them often like I used to, but I had a moment. I had a really wise woman once tell me once, “that everyone has a moment here and there but the true measure of a person is if they stay in that moment or get out of it and start to renew their mind to the word.” I found myself out in the garage bawling my eyes out over something that was that was really very minor, but because my wheels in my mind were already churning…one thought led to another and another, and before I stopped myself I was crying. Many a times my prayer closet, when my family is home tends to be my garage. Usually it’s the one place I can go where I won’t get interrupted. Af...

Tag You're it!

Greetings my fabulous readers! So sorry my writing schedule has been a little off the last few weeks. I’ve been busy. I’m still working on my post book release schedule with both a Southern and Northern tour (so if any of you have any contacts of churches for me to minister at or bookstores please let me know), I’m currently working on my 16th book, and it’s a long story but I’m also co writing a book with a mighty man of God (will discuss publicly in the future) and the whole thing has been a divine door. Things may get a tad sporadic on my blogging schedule as I start traveling more, but know I love y’all and I’m too persistent to leave you alone that quickly. You will eventually hear from me. ***Smiles, smiles, grin, grin*** My itinerary is now on the website. I changed the events page to the itinerary/events page and those events are being updated as I get them. Please keep us in prayer that Rev 3:8 is tangible in our lives….that God opens the doors He wants opened. As I...

Not Listening?

Image
As many of you know a few weeks ago my family and I drove across the country for the holidays. As any long road trip it soon became full of its own adventure. Truthfully the way there wasn’t too bad. We took three days to get there because we stopped and visited a few people on the way. It was the way back, when we drove it straight through that I was again saying to Dan we need a jet plane. My oldest daughter was setting in the backseat of the SUV with her DS taking pictures along the way. She was getting very annoyed with us because she wanted to get a picture of all the states “Welcome To” signs, so I started trying to tell her where they were whenever we were going to pass them. On our way into Michigan I said to the girls, “Look there is the sign. We’re in Michigan! Look! Look! Look!” I was sure they heard me. We were nearing the Canada border and all was well. About ten minutes later I heard a “MOM!” from the back seat of the car. “We’re in Michigan! Why didn’t y...

Are You Suffering From Prophetic Anorexia?

Many months ago I wrote two different blogs: one on prophetic amnesia, and the other on prophetic dyslexia. I’ve been joking that I should start a series because I believe the Holy Spirit gave me another one. It’s prophetic anorexia. In the physical anorexia is sadly on the rise especially among young girls. In writing this blog I’m not trying to demean those that suffer from anorexia. If you do then get help! It’s a horrible epidemic. There is a spiritual prophetic anorexia going on in the body of Christ that needs to get addressed. This is when God tries to tell His people something and they don’t want to hear it, so they don’t receive it. In a sense they vomit it out of their mouth. They reject what God is saying. However, I believe the spiritual body needs the words of God. They need the written Word of the Bible, and the prophetic word. John 6:63 (NIV) The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and ...
