Don't Be A Dud!

When I was a little girl I can remember the excitement of the 4th of July. For several years the town would set off a fireworks display from the back parking lot of the mall. My grandparents lived down the road from there. My family would congregate in grandma and grandpa’s back yard to watch the fireworks. It was as if the display was just for us as my sister and I frolicked around my grandmothers perfectly manicured marigolds with sparklers in hand. I remember the excitement of watching a firework should up in the sky. It was if the entire town must have waited with baited breath for the explosion to pierce its sparkle across the night. It was mesmerizing. But I also can remember the disappointment that hung like a curtain against the wind when we saw a firework go up, and nothing happened. It was a dud.

We as humans are created in the image of God (Gen 1:26). God has put so much inside of us. He’s filled us up with talents, gifts, and abilities. They’re like gunpowder underneath our rear at times. We are yearning that we can do the very destiny He’s called us to do. Creation even, is excited for the day the sons and daughters of God take their rightful place.

Romans 8:19 (Amplified Bible)
19For [even the whole] creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God's sons to be made known [waits for the revealing, the disclosing of their sonship].

Romans 8:19 (The Message)
18-21That's why I don't think there's any comparison between the present hard times and the coming good times. The created world itself can hardly wait for what's coming next. Everything in creation is being more or less held back. God reins it in until both creation and all the creatures are ready and can be released at the same moment into the glorious times ahead. Meanwhile, the joyful anticipation deepens.

Sadly so many things can affect the sparkle and gunpowder. The weather or circumstances can cause us not to display what we were created for on the earth. But God speaks to us time and time again that we are to shine no matter the conditions. We are to do what He created us to do.

Don’t be a dud in the kingdom. God has uniquely formed and fashioned you to do something that only you can do. The angels are excited to watch what God will do in your life if you will only choose to let him light the fuse and watch you go. To some of you it seems as if God keeps trying to light that fuse and you keep turning around to put it out. Soar to what He’s called you to do. It takes more time and energy to fight against God’s will than it does to fulfill it. You’ll be a lot happier fulfilling it.

Don’t let the rain or the humidity dictate to you how far you will go! You sparkle the way you were made to sparkle. It doesn’t matter what is going on around you. The time will come for you to shoot into destiny. Don’t be a dud! Choose to shine for Him!
